Thanks, Steve. Nice to know that the LD_PRELOAD workaround won't likely
cause undesired side effects.
A possibly relevant discussion is going on at
https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/34630
GLib and ld-linux.so are mentioned there as culprit candidates.
I can't tell if that discussion is applicable
I have installed the package from #492 within Ubuntu 11.10/x86_64 on
Dell/E5420 with ImPS/2 ALPS GlidePoint and now the disable tap on
click works good AFAIS.
Thank you very much Seth for your commitment. Is some data collection
required for this type/model?

Thank you Steve for the suggestion. Now I've tried (and also removed
cloud-init) and I found no problem, except for a service that I've
written myself. When running a konsole in X and then giving the command
sudo bum and starting the service, I see some messages from bum but
also this
This seems to be the same problem as bug 532047.
So the problem is not really fixed?
I've done:
sudo mv /etc/init/plymouth-splash.conf /etc/init/plymouth-splash.conf.disabled
and added the line vt=7 to /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf as below.
[SeatDefaults]
greeter-session=unity-greeter
I've opened bug 887445 and found out that it is related to this bug. The same
problem remains in 11.10.
It crashes if I press 2 or ENTER.

The weird thing here is that when I play back on another computer, its
not nearly as jumpy as the real deal. On the computer its on, it jumps
to y=0 often when swiping in x direction, and to x=0 when swiping in y
direction. It kind of jumps back and forth. It seems to stick in the
direction I move
I have swapped axes, so the playback didn't exactly look the same as
what I did. But ill describe it how you are suppose to experience it:
First i swipe with a stylus from bottom right to top left, and from
bottom left to top right.
Then I use my finger to do the same. Watch how sketchy it
Ive identified the problem. If i don't set SwapAxes, the problem isn't
there.. However, the touch is useless since it doesn't map anymore..

I got the exact problem explained in #29. Im on 11.04, upgraded from
10.10. I have checked that i have xserver-xorg-input-evdev
(1:2.6.0-1ubuntu12). Am I missing something else? Please advice.

I can also confirm this bug on HP tx2. The upstart config from #3
resolves that. Only caveat is no splashscreen on shutdown/restart but I
can live with that. Thanks!

Something similar was triggered yesterday on my Lenovo Thinkpad R60,
having an ATI X1400 graphics system - this started when using the game
battle tanks. The GPU temperature rose quickly to above 70 degrees.
The problem did not stop even after quitting the game, but the GPU
temperature was reduced
After upgrading to Beta all text mode terminals are scrambled and
unusable, graphic card still ATI Mobility Radeon LY M6.
