It now also works for me (HP Elitebook 8440p). I still had an xorg.conf
file on my system because a few months ago I had to set the parameters
manually because the xorg driver did not work back then.
Since multiple people now confirm it as working I close this bug with
fix released

It does not work for me. I still need to boot with nomodeset.
I have not seen any new packages of xserver-org-video-intel for a while and
https://code.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel indicates
that already for 5 weeks there is no activity in the code archive.

I've upgraded to latest maverick and it still doesn't work in Maverick.
Any chance it will work in final release?
