The use of vaapipostproc in Totem appears to be through vaapidecodebin:

The error path there calls post_missing_element_message(), which would
trigger Totem's message
It looks like this isn't related to the other bug report. I hadn't fully
understood the table at the bottom of this readme file:

Looks like my CPU is one year too old to support post-processing with
the free shaders.

I also ran into a problem with missing VA-API post processing support on
Lunar. I filed it as bug 2019917 since Lunar ships a version that
includes the purported fix mentioned in the Github issue, and I'm unsure
if it is actually the same problem.
