FWIW this bug only happens to me when unlocking the screen saver, usually though not always after a resume from suspend. I think it happens when I start typing a password quickly and right away. (The crash does not happen immediately—a few seconds later.) If I take care to wait a moment until the

1.6.2-1ubuntu1~precise2 which I think has this patch, and also 1.5.99, continue to crash for me with this SEGV on occasion, shortly but not immediately after unlocking the screen (not necessarily after resume from suspend).
