Public bug reported: This seems to happen when opening a new window. Just when the new window is going to open my screen goes black and I see the last lines of the boot process like I switched to the first virtual terminal. I wait a second or two and then I'm back at the login screen. Xorg crash log attached. The report 1509846 seems to be very similar to the behavior of what I'm seeing. I've tried turning off the animations in compiz now and will see how it goes.
