Marking the bug as Invalid since apparently that readme file only
applies to Windows.
Even the Linux driver 440 does in fact support support Kepler cards.

Public bug reported:
Nvidia driver 418 for Focal now installs version 430, which doesn't
support Kepler cards.
With my card (Nvidia GT 750M) I should be able to use version 418
(https://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-
x86_64/418.113/README/supportedchips.html).
However, the nvidia-driver-418
My computer is a XPS 15, also with a resolution of 3200x1800.

By the way, I added the nopat option to /etc/default/grub, and after
some days I have not seen the error again. Before, it was happening

I'm having the same problem. Most of the time I boot my systems, it
hangs right after showing the kubuntu splash screen and just where it
should show the Nvidia one.
If I turn off and on again the computer a few times (2 to 10 times),
eventually it will boot.
I have seen in the Nvidia forum
For comparison, the log of a successful boot.
