OK now, I tried to get a backtrace and X seems to be broken completely.
I have some random (psychodelic =) ) colors on the screen and some
shapes that likely are panels and windows. Critical, it seems to me.

In fact, I just boot up my PC and the issue is already there. And
unfortunately I don't have anything from apport after login. I think of
reinstalling Ubuntu in a few days, so please tell me if you need more
debug info ASAP.
