I returned to Bhubaneswar and updated the kernel to 2.6.31.15.28 and tried intel driver and the system was freezing as before. Today I updated the kernel to 2.6.31.16.29 and again switched to intel driver and there is no freeze today so far. I will report if the system freezes once again. $

I have looked at bug 456902. There is no need to turn off Desktop Effects since this PCI ID [8086:2562] is blacklisted in COMPIZ. I have also tried 'nomodeset' while booting and the freeze still takes place. I move from place to place and use whatever machines available at that place. This bug
