Did any of you manage to get the nvidia driver working? It doesn't need
to have output to the screen, just xorg needs to start and detect
nvidia. The nvd7 is a card we haven't seen before, and it's a surprise
it worked at all.
If the binary driver works, it could be made to work on nouveau
correct
It's held up in raring-proposed due to freeze. If you enable it you
should be able to get the package.

Error 12 = -ENOMEM, so it looks like too much memory is used by unity.
Since you only have 64mb video memory that's probably the limiting

There can be many causes for this specific bug, I would recommend
updating to mesa from quantal-proposed, and a current development
kernel. The more recent kernels increase fault reporting slightly, and
the mesa upload might fix some of the causes of hangs, but no guarantee!

I verified that intel, radeon and nouveau still run to the desktop
succesfully with the official packages. glxinfo shows nothing suspicious
wrong either and our favorite benchmark glxgears still spins.

I'm waiting for the packaging updates, but I believe upstream is already
dealing with this. There have been some patches on the mailing list
splitting up the libraries further than we already do now. I'm unsure
whether they've actually landed or not, but it is very likely going to

Either a bug in plymouth, or libdrm. Thanks for finally giving me data
to back up my suspicion that renaming was a bad idea.
There are 2 possible paths forward:
- Plymouth always using the 'dumb' api, if available. This will probably need a

Could you add xserver-xorg-video-nouveau from ppa:mlankhorst/ppa ? I
added some debug messages for nouveau, I suspect it runs out of memory,
so something should show up in the xserver log with that deb at least..

would be better pre 3.7, or nouveau.config=PGRAPH=0 after the nouveau
kernel rewrite..

Suspend problems are usually a kernel bug, but our nouveau bugs are
filed against xserver-xorg-video-nouveau, so it's ok to have the bug
filed against that. :-)
Can confirm on my GTX 480 too.
