Public bug reported:

Hey, I've stumbled into an issue after upgrading from Ubuntu 14.04 to Ubuntu
14.10.
My resolution is forced into 1280x768 and there are no other options.
After furiously Googling for the last 3 days, I've resorted to asking the
community in the hopes that they can help me.

Running `apt-cache policy xorg` returns
```
xorg:
  Installed: 1:7.7+1ubuntu8.1
  Candidate: 1:7.7+7ubuntu2
  Version table:
     1:7.7+7ubuntu2 0
        500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ utopic/main amd64 Packages
 *** 1:7.7+1ubuntu8.1 0
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
```

I have 2 monitors - the primary one built into my laptop (Acer Aspire 5749 -
normally running 1368x768) and a slave connected via VGA (a generic Dell -
normally running 1280x1024).
Since updating, when checking in System Settings -> Screen Display, only 1
monitor is detected (the built-in). However, if I plug in the slave screen,
they're mirrored but the settings still only declare 1 screen exists (when
booting, or when logged in)

I believe this *might* be a graphic driver issue, but Software Updates
-> Additional Drivers shows absolutely nothing. All of Canonical and
Ubuntu's sources have been enabled and still, nothing can be found.

Please, for the sake of my own sanity, help! -.-
