Hello, just wanted to add - I have tried to use the NVIDIA graphical card only w/ default driver it found (Gallium) - I have an option in DELL BIOS to disable/enable it. However the symptoms (blinking) persist even on the different graphical card & driver. So I guess this is related to Xorg and not to the i915 driver (on my Intel graphics).
