Just for the record: After one week of extensive testing, -11 also fixes the regular freezes. The system runs rock stable now! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/76

Can confirm this. 2.6.38-11 absolutely fixes the hangs for me. Not sure about the freezes, as this needs some time. Nevertheless, the fix should go in. ** Tags added: verification-done-natty ** Tags removed: verification-needed-natty -- You received this bug notification because you are a member

I see the strange "bsd ring behavior" when using the fix of #18 with my Thinkpad X220. Added the semaphore option to grub renders my system unusable. Console is no longer high-res and I only see graphics errors with X, no chance to work. I get the following error: [drm:init_ring_common] *ERROR* ge

A side node to #8. It makes a difference if I start with IOMMU enabled in BIOS or not. If IOMMU is enabled, the Nvidia card does not work. If its disabled, it works with "nopat". -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-dri

I can confirm that setting "nopat" in GRUB actually solves the problem for me. Strange enough, the problem with the NVIDIA card (I have a Geforce GTX 460) only appears when using x86_64 on Ubuntu 10.10. If I boot 10.10 on same hardware as 32bit installation, everything works fine. -- You received
