This happens to me when I undock a Lenovo laptop (Intel graphics card) and dock it again, in a docking station with two attached monitors.
Rebooting is not necessary; simply logging out works around the issue. I assume that this is because the X.org server restarts. Does anyone know if, as a workaround, I can achieve the effect of resetting all the display configuration without restarting X or logging out? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1585884 Title: xrandr unable to activate displays after docking To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1585884/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
