No success, the downgrade doesn't work either. Today morning, wrong
resolution after the wake up. It seems as if the monitor wakes up with
correct resolution if there is just a little period between sleep and
wake up. But when there's a longer period in between, it wakes up with
wrong resolution.
The bug is also effective on ubuntu 20.04.3 - fresh installation with all
updates. But it wasn't effective prior updating.
After downgrading xserver-xorg-legacy and xserver-xorg-core from
2:1.20.13-1ubuntu1~20.04.3 back to the version 2:1.20.13-1ubuntu1~20.04.2, the
problem seems to be gone.
The bug is also effective on ubuntu 20.04 (fresh installation with all
updates).

Title:
[amdgpu] Wrong external screen resolution
This is my temporary fix for the issue:
1. I pasted the output from the touchpad-edge-detector to the file:
/lib/udev/hwdb.d/60-evdev.hwdb
And uncommented whole default Lenovo Thinkpad T490 option (not sure it is
necessary)
2. Applied the changes using:
sudo systemd-hwdb update
sudo udevadm
The real size of the touchpad: 68x100mm
Description:Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS
Release:20.04
Systemd version: 245.4-4ubuntu3.2
Output from the touchpad-edge-detector:
miroslav@miroslav-ThinkPad-T490:~$ sudo touchpad-edge-detector 68x100
/dev/input/event5

As root create empty file pcie_aspm with execute bit disabled
in /etc/pm/power.d folder.
This will prevent the PCIE lanes from entering into power-saving

It helped me - see bug #660746.

I confirm the problem with GE on clean installation of 10.04 (64bit) and

similar problem on 9.10. Another graphics card problem is slight tearing
