After upgrading from Ubuntu 14 to 15.10 the touchpad no longer works. To
get it to work, I must manually reload the mouse drivers through
terminal. However, this only works for the current session.

You'll see a screen labeled Unknown Display.

that though, the animations are not quite as existant as graphic update
is so slow it'd be difficult to see when the flickering happens.

Whenever there is a display redraw (for example a new line appears in
the terminal window) all my monitors give a few black flickers. There is
intermittantly some triangular tearing. This does not happen in Ubuntu

No devices
To add more to my comment above:
Greg suggested doing a particular keypress combination ( cntl-
AppleCommand-T) while Plymouth was loading. That put us into a CLI of
sorts, and eventually the live disk desktop loaded cleanly. All the
problems reported above went away.
Did an install to my main
Quit the installation? in the centre, and the usual - + X
buttons at the right.
All of this with today's build running an an eMac G4 PPC running at 1.2
Ghz - 4 Gig Ram - 80 Gig hard drive.
Should I be filing bug reports, or are these issues already known?

Fglrx with Compiz's Sync to Vblank makes
Same here, even after disabling VSync setting. I see a significant
slowdown in simply typing in a text box or using Eclipse vs. 10.10. Even
spinners in Firefox are choppy. Oddly enough, the Unity Launcher bar
scrolls in and out like butter. Xorg and compiz are also chewing up a
lot of CPU cycles,

Interesting thing I noticed after restarting Xorg was that workspace
switching is really smooth with no windows open. Soon as I opened
Chrome, performance took a dive and gets progressively worse as windows
open...

Tried fgl_glxgears and got an interesting result, a little different
than robinl. It flew along at ~450fps, updating image the entire time,
no problem. It would only stop and choke when my XTerm displayed the fps
results. I minimized my XTerm, no more choking. I tried something else
-- I minimized

especially if you have a high sensitivity setting on your mouse/track-

I updated my nvidia driver(s) as noted above and it seemed to work for a while
... then I discovered that if I left firefox running, it would lock up(!) - but
only after the power management would idle the display - worked OK if
screensaver running.
