Kubuntu Lucid. ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2400, fglrx driver. Every time I log in compositing is suspended. Disable functionality checks in System Settings-Desktop Effects-Advanced solves the problem for me. -- Compositing disabled upon login, but works, with ATI graphics
