1650 gpu and the 418.56 driver doesn't support my gpu. Will the fix be

I investigated my setup a bit more for reference wrt touchpad:
Afaik, the lenovo X1 carbon does not have a hardware key to disable the
touchpad, I used the Xubuntu settings manager to disable the touchpad. Thus, I
only had the touchpad disabled in software when experiencing the bug. As I
cannot
I might be related, but as far a I remember I did not have problems with gimp.
I have the touchpad disabled permanently (do not remember how exactly) and only
use trackpoint.
Is everyone affected here using a laptop? Nicolas, Johannes, Tomasz and

After the last round of upgrades to the special PPAs of inkscape and
xorg, the problem seems to have disappeared - I can click into workspace
without crashing Inkscape

The attaches screenshot is showing the problem. After activating compiz
the wallpaper went black. The icons on the desktop are not shown, but
they are still there and reacting on mouse clicks.

Is there any progress in fixing this bug? My Dell Latitude C640 running
kernel 2.6.30 on Arch Linux, is affected as well. Suspend works only one
time, after that, the screen gets garbled. Very annoying. It would be
great if this bug gets fixed!
