In pre-Lucid days, up to Karmic, I've always been able to move my monitor out
of sleep mode by moving the mouse or pressing any key. I can't do that anymore
after I upgraded the system to Lucid LTS

After submitting the bug report I realized that the attached system
files were collected while running the system with the 'fixed' version
of my xorg config file (DPMS disabled). I attach a Xorg log file
obtained while running the system with the standard xorg file (DPMS not
disabled).
