I am sorry about the issues you are having, but please, let's be
consistent on what issue we are talking about in this particular thread.
There are multiple possible reasons for X to crash, and it strikes me
that you clearly refer to another issue than the one described here. I

I worked around this entire issue by uninstalling all nvidia drivers,
and installing the nouveau driver. To my surprise, it supports dual
monitors on my Quadro FX 570. While the accellerated animations are
performing fabulous, Chromium won't render WebGL 3D (tells me that my
card doesn't suppor

I am on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. All stuff is up to date from the default
repository settings. I expect my X to not crash at random moments,
whereas it does occasionaly, approximately once an hour. These crashes
happen randomly. Apps I'm running are Chromium, Terminal, PhpStorm IDE.
