A definite workaround is to use gdm instead of lightdm, I just tested it
and it works, so this is a lightdm problem.

I've tried all nvidia drivers, including direct downloads from the
website. Nothing works. I haven't tried installing gdm and using that
instead, however. May be worth a shot.
Right now I'm using nouveau with experimental 3D support, which works
for basic things, but not for my OpenGL development
If a fix has been committed, can someone please document it here? I
don't know what package to install, if any, to get the documentation.
