experiencing a very similar problem
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/799347).
Cheers.

After the upgrade to natty I got some serious problem with the stability of the
X server (everything was just fine in maverik, see
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/787208).

I "autospan=no"ed pulseaudio and killed the daemon with pulseaudio -k. I
guess this forces the system to switch to alsa, because sound seems to
be fine system-wide. This procedure seems to have solved the issue, for
the freezing part of the bug described above seems not to occur any
longer now. By

Sometimes, when i open some media contents (songs, videos, ...),

I think the last updated for intel didn't fix everything. I occasionally
get X reboots (at random), and other times the system becomes slow and
unstable, like a background process occuping all the cpu resources.

Lately an update for the package "xorg-server-video-intel" has appeared
on the repository. It seems to me that it has solved the problem. I've
been using the aforementioned applications with no crashes during a very
long period of time (compared to the characteristic time of recurrence

The circle is closing down. During the previous days i had some
application constantly running, e.g. emesene or pidgin (occasionally

Situation is becoming dramatic. I get crashes every now and then,
randomly, apparently with no reason. I've tried to use the old linux
kernel (the last one since the upgrade to 11.04) but the result is quite
the same. I hope a solution is found as soon as possible, 'cause i
barely use my laptop wit
I can provide this additional piece of information: when the screen
freezes i switch to tty1, login to my account, and sudo killall Xorg. I
can hear Xorg restarting because speakers play the usual "login screen
sound". But the screen is completely black (it is still turned on, but
completely black)

I think this is the usual i815-related bug. When i use applications like

unrecognisable). The mouse cursor still moves but n

I'm having the same problem with Ubuntu 9.10 with Intel graphic card and
