Catalyst 9.9 does NOT work, too
same Invalid Bios Signature error as always
says that the graphics card is not originally ATI, what is nonesense, because
Asus wouldn't use something "fake ati", would they?

unfortunately 9.8 doesn't work either - and it has the "Invalid Bios
Signature" Error again :(
alessandro, do you mean that mandriva works with no problems on your notebook?
and does you pavilion have the same graphics card?

with 9.7 something has changed
reading the xorg.0.log gives me the impression that the driver recognises the
card, but still it fails to load a graphical interface with ubuntu
i've uploaded the xorg.0.log - maybe you guys can read something out of
it that might be useful!

that's really getting annoying - amd doesn't do anything for months...
are there any chances that this issue might be fixed? or is it too unimportant?

unfortunately, it didn't work!
this was the way i've tried it:
adding the ppa's, imported the key file
updated the system with update manager
reboot
installed xorg-driver-fglrx with synpatic
terminal: aticonfig --initial
reboot
same error message as always
removed the fglrx driver and restored th
okay, i've managed to import the key file...
but how do i update the files now? manually by synaptic? or by update manager?

but this ended in a error message in the terminal

I've added a screenshot from GPU-Z, showing the Video Bios Number - hope this
helps.
Oh, and by the way: I asked in the ubuntu-it forums and this seems to be
a 1000HV-general issue...so it's not a "plinius-only"-issue ;)
