When you open a window it opens too hih up in a way that its top panel is hiden
behind the destop top panel, and inaccessible.
You can not drag it-no purchase- minimize,maximize etc, no buttons visible.

No menu choices on top panel when no application open and cursor hovers over

After latest partial upgrade 10 minutes ago, the key combination Ctrl-Alt-T to
bring up the terminal produces no result, though after the upgrade I logged out
and in again.
I had to shut down and restart to bring it to function.

On the left top corner of the top panel, the name of the last used application
is left after the application has been closed.
If I remember well, it used to be Ubuntu and then File, View etc.
Not sure if xorg bug.

last app name left on top panel after app closed

A Sony 32'' TV attached thru the HDMI port, is identified as a Sony 72'' TV,
but in any case there is nothing showing on the external screen.
The laptop is dual boot with Win7, which have no problem with the Tv. Hence, a
driver question.
