Ok, I found a way to do it.
Here's how I generated this file:
Booted from USB with quiet-splash removed from grub command line.
Dropped to terminal and mounted my main partition and saved 'dmesg' to
it with
dmesg /.../.../.../.../dmesg

were fine, I could boot and do my stuff. I then decided to format my
partition and do a fresh install of Lucid. That's were I had the problem

see the contents of 'dmesg' on the screen but I need a way to dump the
content into a file which can be saved on that USB and opened on a
properly working computer. Can you help with that? Is there any other

I think this is caused by the open source ATI drivers. This is how I
managed to bypass the problem, if anyone else has the same issue:
Get a liveCd/LiveUSB and boot normally without any options. Let plymouth
do its work and once you get to the stage that the GPU is being reset
every few seconds

Same problem here, keyboard not working in login screen but it's fine

Ok, I solved my problem.
After seeing the above message (#93) I over-wrote the
/usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/ir file in my Lucid machine with one copied
over from a Karmic machine and the error message has gone away. I can
use both gb-en and ir layouts now! So the ir file in Lucid is
broken and
