Thanks for confirming the bug. In the meanwhile, for anyone encountering
this problem, you can work around it by installing libinput10 and
libinput-bin from artful.

Note that I'm not using Wayland. The erratic behaviour is present under
X as well.

Title:
Cursor jumps at the end of trackpoint
Public bug reported:
After installing bionic on two thinkpads (x131e, x230), I've noticed
that once you stop motion on the trackpoint (and possibly apply a
miniscule amount of pressure on it after stopping), the cursor will jump
in the direction of the previous motion by a small amount. This
Tried all the way down to 1.9.2 (from https://salsa.debian.org/xorg-
team/lib/libinput/tags), as well as 1.10.5. The issue for me on the
trackpoint seem to be present on every version there.
I also think I notice a pattern, it seems that the "jump" occurs after I
stop going from some coordinate A
Just downloaded libinput 1.8.4 from artful-updates, compiled the debian
package via debuild and installed it on my bionic system. Rebooted the
system and I'm _fairly certain_ the laggy cursor problem gone away.
At this point I might be able to bisect the problem with different
versions of
Not 100% certain if this is the right bug for this, but I'm seeing
similar behaviour for trackpoints and touchpads on the Thinkpad X230 and
Thinkpad X131e for at least Ubuntu (standard) and Ubuntu MATE.
Laggy is a vague term, but for me specifically I'm seeing that the
cursor moves in a constant
I see this on a Intel HD 4000 as well, on xenial. (Thinkpad x230)

As a side note, the thinkvantage button also stops working.
The way to solve this problem is to use bumblebee and only turn on the
intel card until you need the nvidia card.

This bug blocks me from upgrading some machines to 13.10. Since 13.10's
support ends before 14.04 comes out, providing an upgrade so that I can
continue to get support is important.
Upgrading to 13.10 without this package will make things more
complicated.

Does anyone here notice graphics slow down? After a couple minutes of
game play with CSS, my framerate would drop to about 20fps (status of
other activities on the computer will also slowdown).
This did not happen in 13.04 but is occuring with 13.10.
