The i915 driver crashed on Kubuntu 16.04 beta 2 on a Lenovo Thinkpad X1
3rd generation.
I think the crash happened when KDE attempted to perform automatic
login. After the crash, I believe X was restarted. The login screen was
shown and I could log in and use the computer

Recent fglrx package, as explained in #382849, allows 2D operations
under -rt kernel. 3D does not work, but this is not critical for typical
activities requiring real-time (audio).

fglrx driver (2:8.600-0ubuntu2) crashes the computer when X loads. My
