I chatted with Ike - This is a pass for both Karmic and Lucid. Lucid
requires an additional change for full functionality, but this change
causes no ill effects and is necessary.

X failed on Intel B43 machine
Once a bug is marked fix released, any updates generally ignored for bug
processing. I just happened to notice your update here.
Could you please file a bug against maverick and provide the same
information as in comment #47? That will make sure that it gets some
attention.
Thanks!

Please note that this patch is not (as far as I can tell) not in the
upstream driver repo yet, and is certainly not in Linus's tree.
Therefore, it does not qualify for inclusion in a Lucid stable update.

+ [LUCID] Cannot install on eDP
Since this bug now has information for multiple hardware models and
multiple releases, it isn't very useful to us, as we tend to handle bugs
based on a single pair of hardware and release. Please open new bugs for
each set of hardware on the release it fails on, and we'll match it with
other bugs
The steps to take now are:
1. Test the current Lucid proposed kernel. There isn't anything new in
that kernel likely to fix this, but we need to test for completion.
2. Cherry pick the patch above into that kernel, and test again.
The current Lucid proposed kernel is available from:
This patch is also one that needs testing for bug 561802. If anyone
builds a test kernel, please update that bug as ask for testing there
also.
