I upgraded to 12.10 from 12.04 yesterday. The system has frozen 3 times
since then. The 'freeze' is gradual - at first windows become
unresponsive, or intermittently unresponsive. Then it is not possible to

I've tested the 304.43-0ubuntu2_amd64.deb versions and can now
successfully produce and apply colour profiles! Which is great.
Although I enabled the -proposed repository, it didn't show the updated
version as an available packaged. I had to manually download and install
the deb files using dpkg.

Hi,
The nvidia binary graphics drivers shipped with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS do no
support XRandR 1.2/1.3. Consequently it is not possible to create or use
display colour management profiles using the "colour" tool, as this tool
relies on XRandR 1.2.

I have tested a new install of Lucid on the MPC-L with the same Samsung
display and it appears to be resolved now.

Hi Bryce, sorry for the delay in responding, I've been on holiday!
I'm not sure why none of the files attached to the report the DPI as
29x39. This was the DPI reported by xdpyinfo when running X without the
DisplaySize hardcoded in xorg.conf or when X is started without the VGA
cable attached to

I have a 32" Samsung TV connected to a Viglen MPC-L via VGA. When the
system boots with the VGA cable attached, X starts with a DPI of 29x39.
If X starts without a VGA cable attached, it starts with a DPI of 96x96.
X is obviously doing some autodete
I have had this problem. Manually specifying XAA mode means that X
doesn't crash, but it then displays Bug #236019.
Fortunately here the vesa driver works OK, but it would be nice if this
driver worked out of the box.
