[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1163209] [NEW] Xorg freeze

2013-04-02 Thread Tony Whitmore
Public bug reported: I upgraded to 12.10 from 12.04 yesterday. The system has frozen 3 times since then. The 'freeze' is gradual - at first windows become unresponsive, or intermittently unresponsive. Then it is not possible to switch to an alternative window. Then the pointer freezes. It is not p

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1037483] Re: Needs NVIDIA driver 304.43

2012-08-30 Thread Tony Whitmore
I've tested the 304.43-0ubuntu2_amd64.deb versions and can now successfully produce and apply colour profiles! Which is great. Although I enabled the -proposed repository, it didn't show the updated version as an available packaged. I had to manually download and install the deb files using dpkg.

Public bug reported: Hi, The nvidia binary graphics drivers shipped with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS do no support XRandR 1.2/1.3. Consequently it is not possible to create or use display colour management profiles using the "colour" tool, as this tool relies on XRandR 1.2. nvidia released an updated versi

Hi Bryce, sorry for the delay in responding, I've been on holiday! I'm not sure why none of the files attached to the report the DPI as 29x39. This was the DPI reported by xdpyinfo when running X without the DisplaySize hardcoded in xorg.conf or when X is started without the VGA cable attached to

2009-07-01 Thread Tony Whitmore
I have had this problem. Manually specifying XAA mode means that X doesn't crash, but it then displays Bug #236019. Fortunately here the vesa driver works OK, but it would be nice if this driver worked out of the box. -- xf86-video-geode: default EXA acceleration makes X crash with GX2 on Intrep
