I can reproduce this crash at will.
I am using xMir (I think) and Ubuntu 13.10, I am also using the "new"
google maps, if I use the zoom in Google maps after a few seconds of
zooming the desktop will hang.
ctrl-alt + 1 to a terminal and sudo service lightdm restart allows me
back into the desktop without a reboot.
