I am seeing the same issue on my I5-661 graphics. All compositing is disabled
- I am only using Metacity. I tried the mplayer test in #23 but see tearing
using both the -vo gl2 and -vo xv options.
This is really annoying as I only upgraded to Natty (from Hardy) a couple of
days ago and

whole display ceases to redraw. Also just before this happens (when the
app first stars) the screen flickers for a few seconds in a really nasty
