I downloaded karmic-desktop-i386.iso and used usb-creator ... well ... to create a boot-able usb stick since my X60s doesn't have a CD drive. Booting works fine until the init process starts. Then I receive these messages here: http://pkqs.net/~cf/small-IMG_1310.JPG . These last for hours. --

I used the one from that link here: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/9.10/ . I downloaded it again (to ensure the image hasn't been corrupted) and used usb-creator again with deactivated persistent file system feature but the result is the same. Btw: If I boot the ubuntu from my hard disk then
