After installing the latest X infrastructure from xorg-edgers PPA (as
of April 5, 2011) the problem is gone. Everything seems to be normal
again.

After upgrading to Natty (currently in beta) there is a permanent problem with
X server.
It seems that the sever hangs or something like this. GDM screen is corrupted
and keyboard is non-responsive.
