I've come across this problem today on my IBM T43.The Numlock led indicator gets on when I login,and it does't gets off whenever I press Shift+Numlck or other keys,but the numpad's state can be switched. I'm using Ubuntu 9.10. -- NumLock gets enabled unexpectedly on my laptop
