Upon boot the Ubuntu bootscreen appears, but then disappears again
leaving me hanging somewhere around "* Starting CPU interrupts balancing

Oh, and I also tried disabling "sync to vblanc" since I saw some reports
online that it had fixed other compiz bugs, but to no avail.
And also, booting to ubuntu classic desktop (no effects) went smoothly,
no issues.

I got this error report after (apparently problem-free) shutting down
and starting my computer again. The only bug/crash I can think of now
related to the gfx-driver is the bootsplash failing when starting the
computer.
