PS I noticed there is a '-v' option for wayland that runs with "screen-
saver without video blanking". Is that helpful?

Now there is no /etc/gdm/Xsession. So is it not appropriate to adopt the

I run apt-get dhowpkg gdm, it says there is only one available version
2.32.1-0ubuntu3.
I guess this is the only choice from the repository.

Sadly it's 11.04 now. I still suffered from this bug. I am working on Ubuntu
11.04 Beta2 with nouveau 3D driver.
The system halts any time.

Same issue on my laptop. And it's of the kind which does harm to one's
hardware.
It may overheat the laptop if one doesn't notice or know how to stop the crazy
syndaemon. Also, I don't quite understand what this daemon does in my system.
My touchpad is always recognized as a wheel mouse with
well, the error msg given by Xorg.0.log is something like cannot initialize
nvidia_drv.so and no screen found.
My doubt is this is a problem that the driver couldn't recognized the screen
module or nvidia_drv.so does not work, or both?
I googled a lot on this issue, and I hardly see any useful
one month past, any progress on this issue?
