Hi,
I am using the 32 bit version, and the same error came up.
All I have to do re-create the error is close the laptop lid and open up. I
have "blank screen" setting in the power manager. Even suspend option for that
fails.
Suspend, hibernate works fine by itself (by pressing suspend key)
Forgot to give snippets of the fdi file under
/etc/hal/fdi/policy/x11-synaptics.fdi

I have provided the hal fdi file for multi finger scrolling. It was
working until the Alpha 3 release of the Karmic.
Now the scrolling does not seems to be working.
