Fresh install of Ubuntu Studio 18.04 - xorg crashes just after login and
returns to lightdm. Moving to a TTY and attempting to startx returns
the following:

Wow, thanks Alberto - that would be great! We (wine-staging) would like
to link to libXNVCtrl and having it be a dynamic library removes the
ambiguity about what we're supposed to do license-wise (and it
dramatically simplifies our configure check!).

Yes, this would fix the issue (provided that the copyright file gets
updated with the version from upstream). We (wine staging tree) would
greatly prefer that this package get merged with upstream since upstream
has the lib provided dynamically. Is there a time-table on this

dissertation done. The package works great in both test scenarios that
I've used to check for the bug (TESTCASE 1 and operating a variety of
affected apps with Wine).

Just tried the new kernel, and it crashed after approx. 30 minutes of
system use. (X exited, bllinking caps lock / num key). The screenshot
