I tried your method (disabling record module in xorg.conf) but all I got was
[ 1394.228] (WW) "record" will not be loaded unless you've specified it to be
loaded elsewhere.
...
[ 1394.228] (II) "record" will be loaded even though the default is to disable
it.

(usually between 3 and 5 times), the screen goes black with only the mouse
cursor visible after entering the user's password. VTs are also completely

content does not become visible (it was just a blink, but it was
