I tried the patch in the openchrome directory and it seemed to work. But remaking and reinstalling did not change anything. Since it works with a totally plain xorg.conf file, there must be something wrong with mine (the one generated by 9.04). But what is it? -- [P4M900][HP 2133]9.04 only

The problem must be in xorg.conf. The one that sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver.org made had almost nothing in it (see attached xorg.conf.new). But the old one had lots in it. I copied it to xorg.conf and rebopoted, and got low graphics mode again. And wireless is now still very dead. **
