@madbiologist (s-j-turner) : thanks a lot for this information, I was
not aware hdmi output is possible in 3.5 with FOSS driver. So for me,
that's a complete solving way. No need closed driver anymore, everything
is working fine.

Is there any news ?
I'm affected too, using FOSS driver will not be better, I use the proprietary
driver to get the HDMI sound transportation.
