I apologize for being inactive but I hadn't checked my old email address in a while due to it being overrun with subscription spam. I started using the beta of windows 7 in February and have stuck with it since so I haven't been able to check this issue on my laptop. Any Linux (Gentoo, Karmic) running now is on a virtual machine, regardless thanks for looking into this Sir Harrington.
