I have applied the workaround but certain things will still set off the
corruption, such as visiting a website with java/flash or maximizing
libreoffice or glxgears.

I tried a dist-upgrade and that seems to have fixed things.The terminal
console window is working properly. A hibernate issue also seems fixed
(laptop would lock up when the lid went down etc.). I also updated all
packages.This particular laptop is a Thinkpad T41 with an ATI GPU. H

I also confirm the bug on my Lenovo S10 running UNR 9.10. Same issues as
everyone else, external monitor works fine running Metacity except that
I cant play audio or video - it will crash in the same manner as

Mobility 9000 etc. I tried LiveCD, Karmic, Alpha 6, with same result as
everyone else reporting above. System lockup which requires power
off/power on. Keyboard is unresponsive. I posted my version of the
