I can confirm this problem. I installed Ubuntu 11.04 x86 Server Edition
on an Acer Aspire and ubuntu detected de:nodeadkeys as my keyboard. So I
thought everything is alright, but when the installation completed I
recognized that the keyboard was wrong. Instead of the chosen QWERTZ it
was an QUERTY. Its really hard to do something manually because you
don't know where all the special characters are you need to perform some
operations (especially without gui).
