I cab confirm this issue.
After the install i just got an us keyboard layout and i need to install the
german one manualy.
But after every reboot i got the us keyboard again and have to change it back
to german layout.

thanks for your Answer and Help. Unfortunatly my Nerdskills are not so far that
i understood how to ssh into "the sick box".
If you know an online manual for this or a link, that would help a lot.

I found out what caused the Problem. I mapped the ctr keys on the (cmd =window)
keys.
If i remove this mapping i can choose the Keyboard Layout again and get the
right (German) Layout.
So there is a probleme with the ctrl/alt key remapping function.

My Ubuntu 11.04 freeze periodicly. I can still move the mouse and the programs
are stil running but the rest of the grafic is frozen and the window decoration
