I have this with a 9800 GT and driver 302.17 from x-updates. The last
thing I have on the Xorg log is this:
[ 51230.115] (WW) NVIDIA(0): WAIT (2, 6, 0x8000, 0xec68, 0xecf0)
[ 51237.115] (WW) NVIDIA(0): WAIT (1, 6, 0x8000, 0xec68, 0xecf0)
[ 51719.354] [mi] EQ overflowing.
I can indeed confirm that upgrading to AMD Catalyst 12.6 Beta fixed the
problem.
I build the .deb package from the install file using the internal build
process:
sh ./amd-driver-installer-8.98-x86.x86_64.run --buildpkg Ubuntu/precise
sudo dpkg --install fglrx_8.980-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb
sudo dpkg
If you patch this yourself, there seem to be two places that need it:
nv-linux.h, and the pm_message_t section of conftest.sh. For the
conftest.sh section I did this:
#include linux/version.h
#include linux/utsname.h
#if LINUX_VERSION_CODE KERNEL_VERSION(3, 4, 0)
#include asm/system.h
#endif

Hi guys,
Just wanted to mention that I installed ubuntu netbook 10.10 (meerkat?)
