I have seen the files and I'm considering the case .
Your touchpad is not recognised and is considered as a mouse so to verify that
it is a bug indeed and not a driver installation issue please consider it..

Vladimir It appears that you don't have the package xserver-xorg-input-

To serve you better I have a few questions. Have you got a synaptics touchpad
or a ALPS touchpad.
Does synaptics drivers work with alps touchpad? I mean have you got your
touchpad worked
For finding out you touchpad, you may use windows 7 device manager where
it works fine.

Hi bug reporter.
First of all Thanks to report the bug and help us to make ubuntu better.
I think your bug is quite confirmed as I and possibly all can reproduce
the cursor jump. Although I'm sure that this is infact a bug or not as
this probably is in the developers knowledge.Like for example
Whatever be the reason these config files by default have the spelling
mistake that should be taken care of by the developers and also all the
information is available to fix the bug. So I'm changing the status to
Triaged.

Hi bug reporters
First of all Ubuntu BugSquad thankyou to report the bug and help ubuntu to get
more close to a bug free OS. I think the situation can be better understood by
the developers if you could include the output of xev program by typing in bash

It appears that your touchpad is not really detected by the computer, as
of now we need the information that Leo demanded for reporting your bug
upstream.
This is my output for the same command and I have a working synaptics
Touchpad..
si...@simar-laptop:~$ dmesg | grep -i synaptics
Thanks Geir Ove Myhr for offering me such things to forward a bug
upstream but unfortunately I was out of station for a robotics based
project of freescale. I would like if you watch me as a new triager and
involve me further in doing such things so that I would be able to do it
myself and hep in

What I'm wondering about is whether a touch in the scroll area changes
something in the hardware state or whether it is simply the driver that chooses
to interpret touch in this area in a special way.
Geir, I don't think that the cursor jump is due to something related to
hardware in the
Please consider installing gpointing-device-settings package. Then
enabling the horizontal scroll settings in the configration utility in
SystemprefrencesPointing devices seems to fix the issue as horizontal
scroll works fine in sony VGNCW16FG having synaptics touchpad ..
If the problem persist
Hi there, please specify information about the settings you are using in

hnrkg, your information was helpful a bit but i'm still not able to
reproduce the bug. I have the same driver xserver-xorg-inout-synaptics
but there are no such unnatural behaviour.
