Public bug reported: Install ubuntu-10.10 and fglrx on a amd64 desktop with an AMD GPU. Say apt-get install digikam, run digicam and point it at a folder with more than 16 or so images. In this case it's a AMD Radeon 5770 with 1GB ram. Sweep out/select more than 16 of the thumbnails and fglrx

I have a 64-bit lucid install fully patches as of 2010-04-01 or so. I patched and saw 300 MB of patches including fglrx and kernel patches. I had exactly what #49 Brendan P had happen. Perfectly working system with a radeon 5770. Apt-get update, apt-get upgrade, something indicated I should

I did the following to fix it. aptitude update aptitude purge openoffice-core it removed a ton of openoffice packages, fglrx, and some kdelibs aptitude install openoffice-core aptitude install fglrx aptitude upgrade Things seem back to normal. The dpkg-divert commands didn't seem to help, nor
