You shouldn't need to disable the ATI driver. It is possible this problem has more to do with Compiz than FGLRX, as discussed here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=7320530&postcount=33 Try disabling all desktops effects, or try running "metacity --replace" at a terminal. Suspend/Resume sho
