I just heard about this bug, thought it was an old monitor I had, but wasn't. Now here's the rub. I have an x86 system that started showing this issue when I upgraded to Precise from Lucid (32bit only for old reasons - will reimage when I get a chance to backup 500G worth of development stuff).
