This is my 2x2 wall working in 12.04 ubuntu sessiĆ³n (not 2D). It doesn't
work for 12.10 yet, i don't know why.

I've seen a few bug reports on nvidia-graphics-drivers but I open a new
one, since none of the previous seems to cover my problem.
I think it all started while in Karmic and upgrading nvidia drivers.
Whatever, I can confirm I have the same issue nowadays, in Lucid Lynx.
I can confirm that everything works as expected with the previous drivers
190.53 from nvidia web page.
(suspend resume working fine (and quickly), and firefox showing ok long pages
while scrolling)

macbookpro with latest nvidia drivers doesn't suspend or hibernate (it does
with 170.x)
I have the same problem described on this bug.
Randomly, the system stops responding to keyboard and mouse events. I
only can work with current active window (example: console, web browser,
etc), but without using mouse (clic doesn't work) or using menu with
keyboard (Alt+F for file does not
